Orthodontics is the science of natural or acquired anomalies of teeth and jaws. Orthodontists treat anomalies of jaws and occlusion, correct defects, equilibrate crowded or with some contortions teeth, treat face and jaws system developmental disorders, restore physiological teeth locality in dental arches. Sometimes orthodontical service is need before prosthodontics, when a place for an implant or other restoration should be established.

Orthodontical plates

Orthodontical plates fit in different ages, however they can correct only small defects. These plates are removable, therefore it is easy to keep a good mouth hygiene. It is the easiest way to correct natural occlusal anomalies or sidelong teeth for children from 8 to 13 years. Wearing removable orthodontical plates during several years, while child is maturing, the problem can be solved. The main thing in this case is do not retard and talk with the specialist in time. For elder patients – teenagers and adults – there is other treatment: teeth are equilibrated with fixed orthodontical braces.

Metal braces

This is generally used type of braces. Metal braces can be different sizes, comfort or different features inside. If such treatment is chosen, the patient will attain the results after 1,5 – 2 years. The patients also need to visit his specialist once a month.

Ceramic braces

For patients, who are avoiding treatment with metal braces because of some psychological factors, we suggest to choose ceramic braces, because they are less visible. Ceramic braces can be stuck on all dental arch or only on more visible places – anterior teeth. In such case, on posterior teeth are sticking metal braces. The treatment with ceramic braces takes few months longer than with metal braces.

Non ligature braces

The orthodontical wire in such braces is fixed with special hatches. During the treatment, elimination of the teeth is falling rarer than using other systems of braces. Patients, who are treated with non ligature braces should visit the specialist rarer and such treatment takes shorter than for patients, who are treated with other braces systems. The treatment with non ligature braces has only one weakness – there are no ceramic braces in this system.

Orthodontic treatment takes special mouth hygiene and persistent teeth care. It is essential to use special mouth care tools – teeth brushers, interdental flosses, interdental brushers. We recommend to visit hygienist, who will explain and teach the right mouth care and will do for you professional mouth hygiene, every 3-6 months.
